Green Deal Advert Watchdog Ruling

Post by ALEO Admin » Fri Aug 29, 2014 3:58 pm

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ruled that a Green Deal advertising campaign by the Department of Energy and Climate Change misled customers.

According to the ASA, DECC's advert claimed that the money saved would more than cover any repayments for having the work done and implied that savings were guaranteed. The ASA ruled that DECC could not guarantee that Green Deal repayments would exceed savings as saving calculations were based on a typical household's expected energy usage and that DECC was assuming that energy bills would rise in line with inflation.
