M&S £400,000 Community Energy Fund

On 1 July, Marks and Spencer (M&S) launched a new community energy fund with up to £400,000 available for community renewable energy projects.

Application is open to any not-for-profit organisation that wants to use renewable energy to provide community benefits such as a community energy group, a sports club, library, school or simply an organisation that wants to have a positive impact on the environment.

The winning projects will be decided by public vote, with the funding split between the following awards:
- Two national awards of £40,000 and £20,000
- Regional funding awards for projects across Great Britain that require a maximum of £12,500
- A Judges’ Prize of £15,000 for the most innovative or inspiring project

The application deadline is Wednesday 29 July 2015, with the public vote taking place between 17 August and 30 September.
