Ofgem: Consultation to review the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme
Posted: Tue Apr 06, 2021 6:19 pm
Energy companies investigated by Ofgem can make voluntary redress payments to suitable charities, via the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme. The Redress Scheme was established in 2017, and has been operated by our service provider, the Energy Saving Trust. The purpose of the Redress Scheme is to use redress payments to support energy consumers, particularly vulnerable energy consumers, through energy-based projects or schemes run by charities. Ofgem is now seeking views from energy industry stakeholders on the current process in place for the Redress Scheme, to ensure that redress payments deliver the maximum benefit for Great Britain’s energy consumers.
