UKGBC publishes New Homes Policy Playbook

The UK Green Building Council has produced a significantly updated version of its New Homes Policy Playbook. The Playbook is a hands-on resource designed to support local authority officers with responsibilities for sustainability and planning. Key elements of the Playbook include the reduction of energy demand and carbon, measurement of energy performance, low carbon energy supply and mitigation of residual carbon. Each section includes recommendations for requirements that local authorities should introduce to make new homes sustainable. An interactive policy map is also available, which displays leading examples of new-build policy from local and combined authorities across the UK.
