Greenpeace on the Climate Emergency
Rebecca Newsom, Head of Politics at Greenpeace UK, spoke at a recent LBEG meeting and asked us to share the following information with the London Boroughs: I thought ALEO members may also be interested.
1) Greenpeace's climate emergency manifesto - with the 134 policies needed to start getting the UK on track to delivering net zero https://www.greenpeace.org.uk/resources ... manifesto/
2) Our estimation on how much government spending is needed over the next 3 years to address the climate and nature emergency - this ask is now backed by over 30 NGOs https://www.greenpeace.org.uk/resources ... emergency/
3) Friends of the Earth's local authority tracker / check list https://takeclimateaction.uk/sites/file ... onPlan.pdf
4) Greenpeace UK's top 15 asks to political parties for their manifestos in an upcoming election - attached
She says it would be great to see councils advocating collectively for as many of these things as possible!
