The purpose of the Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) is to help all eligible public sector bodies to engage specialist and expert advice to identify and develop energy efficiency and low carbon heat upgrade projects for non-domestic buildings and then prepare robust and effective applications for the £1 billion Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (referred to as the Grant Scheme).

The allocation of this fund will be based on need. Eligible public sector bodies that do not have the capabilities and resources required to submit an effective and robust application for the Grant Scheme will be prioritised. The dates and form for making an application can be found on the website above.

There will also be an opportunity to apply for funding to engage the expert skills required to deliver your project if your organisation does not have these, and to either put in place or improve your existing Heat Decarbonisation Plan. Should you wish to apply for this additional funding to deliver a capital project or develop a Heat Decarbonisation Plan, you can indicate your need in this application form and Salix will work with you to develop an application to access further LCSF support. The deadlines for applications for this funding are as follows: 23:59 on the 18th November 2020 for central government* and 23:59 on the 11th January 2021 for other public sector bodies.

*Organisations which will require funding to be transferred between government departments at Supplementary Estimates must submit their applications for project development support no later than Friday 30th October 2020. This date is driven by the need to ensure funds can transfer from BEIS to the relevant government department on time.
