Government report assesses energy efficiency of English housing stock

Post by AngelaE » Mon Jul 26, 2021 8:37 am

[Published 8 July 2021] On 8 July, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government published an update to the English Housing Condition survey and a report on the energy efficiency of the English housing stock.

The report reveals that the energy efficiency of English homes has improved over the last decade, with social rented homes remaining the most energy efficient, though there have been marked improvements across all tenures. It also highlighted that over two-thirds of homes with lower energy efficiency could be brought up to band C for a cost of less than £10,000. Half of dwellings with heat pumps were owner occupied.
