NEA/NGN Survey on Gas Disconnection in Vulnerable Households

National Energy Action (NEA) is running a survey on gas disconnection in vulnerable households, on behalf of Northern Gas Networks (NGN) - one of eight regional gas distribution networks (GDNs) in Great Britain.

The call for evidence seeks to collect information on current practice regarding what happens for a household when a gas engineer has to either disconnect or turn off an unsafe gas appliance from supply. The call for evidence is part of a research project NEA is carrying out for NGN that is exploring what support can be made available for vulnerable households following disconnection of unsafe gas appliances. For example, facilitating access to a replacement gas appliance.

The survey is targeting individuals who either work in the gas industry or support and work with households who may have been impacted by a loss of heating or hot water due to an unsafe gas appliance, e.g. landlords, local authorities, community organisations etc.

The survey will close on Friday, 8 July 2016.
