- Member’s Forum and AGM held in Taunton on 6 June 2017.

- Members approved a minor constitution amendment and the annual accounts.

- The new Chair was appointed – Colin Anderson of J&J Crump Ltd.

- The new Joint Vice-Chairs were appointed – Alison Robinson of Swindon Borough Council and Neil Short of Bournemouth Borough Council.

- Members heard presentations from Happy energy on ECO funded schemes, Warm Wales on a new approach to targeting ECO funds and Wessex Resolutions CIC on financing ECO client top-ups – plus the regular policy update from NEA.

- The next ALEO South West Exec meeting is on 15 August 2017.

- The next ALEO South West Member’s Forum is on 3 October 2017.

South West News and Announcements • South West CAN becomes ALEO South West

The South West Carbon Action Network will now be known as the Association of Local Energy Officers South West (ALEO South West), following approval from members at the regional forum meeting held on 14 June 2016.

This follows the change of the Carbon Action Network's national identity to the Association of Local Energy Officers, on 1 February 2016.

South West CAN is sponsored by British Gas.
Last Forum meeting held on 3 December 2013. Items covered included: Big Energy Saving Network, ECO targeting, Swindon Home Check scheme and the NEA Warm homes campaign.
Next Forum meeting to be held in Taunton on 23 April 2014. Agenda includes Smart Grids and Public Health action to tackle health inequalities.

North Somerset Council
•Affordable Warmth group looking to hold safe and warm events, such as electric blanket testing

Bournemouth Borough Council
•Working with Public Health and local GPs to fund an insulation scheme to top-up ECO

Stroud District Council
•Agreeing final details of forthcoming loan scheme

National Energy Action
•Programmes funded by DECC have enabled bill management sessions in Torbay and Bournemouth and work with health and well-being boards in Bournemouth and Poole

Cornwall Council
•Loan scheme currently operating

Swindon Borough Council
•Mailout to patients with COPD and heart conditions got a good response for information on a variety of topics, including health, benefit checks and falls
